Overview

CEU is a private university in Vienna. Studying here comes with both educational and living costs, so the university provides financial aid to help with planning. The aid is granted on the basis of academic merit and is available for most full-time programs. Check your program's website before you apply.

Candidates from any country can apply for CEU financial aid. To be considered, you must apply by the appropriate deadline and indicate your interest in the 'Funding' section of the CEU Application Form.

For master's students, the aid can include a Master's Tuition Award, which may cover 50% up to 80% of the tuition fee. A Full Tuition Award is possible only in exceptional cases. There is also a Master's Stipend Award, which pays 300 EUR per month up to 750 EUR per month.

The stipend is paid by the 4th day of each month, according to the Financial Aid Policy. You need a bank account from a SEPA country or a SEPA-eligible online bank account (Wise, Revolut, N26) in EUR currency. CEU does not endorse any banks.

If you arrive after the program start date, stipends are paid on a pro-rated basis from your arrival date on campus. No retroactive stipend payments are possible.

How to apply

Follow these steps to apply for financial aid:

  1. Check your future program's website to confirm it is a full-time program and that financial aid is available.
  2. Apply to your chosen master's program by the appropriate deadline.
  3. In the CEU Application Form, go to the 'Funding' section and indicate your interest in financial aid.
  4. Submit your application by the financial aid deadline.
