What you will study

What you study

The MSc in Management at Modul University Vienna is a 120 ECTS programme taught entirely in English. It mixes core management courses with a specialisation you choose. In the first year you take Advanced Data Analysis & Decision Making, Advanced Economics, Global Marketing: Theory & Cases, Corporate Financial Management, and Organizational Social Psychology & Leadership. Semester two adds Research Design & Methods in Practice, Artificial Intelligence and Information Management Strategies, Conflict Management, and Business Ethics. The second year covers Microeconomics of Competitiveness (MOC), a case-learning course developed at Harvard Business School, plus Environmental Management & Sustainability, Business Strategy & Market Simulation, and a master's thesis with seminar and defence.

You pick one specialisation: Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Leadership; Digital Marketing; Innovation and Experience Design for Tourism; Tourism and Service Management; Sustainable Management and Policy; or Data Science. In place of a specialisation course you can do an internship or join the Industry Excellence Program.

How the programme is organised

Four semesters, 30 students maximum. The first year builds analytical and leadership foundations. The second year is more strategic and applied, ending with the thesis. You can integrate a customised internship into your curriculum. The Industry Excellence Program pairs you with a senior manager from an Austrian or international company for two semesters of mentoring. The programme also uses enrichment courses in semester four.

Who it suits

It suits graduates with a bachelor's degree of at least three years in business, economics or social sciences who want to deepen management knowledge and tailor it to a career goal. If you are considering a PhD, the research design and methods courses and the thesis give you a base. The specialisation options let you focus on data, marketing, tourism, sustainability or entrepreneurship.
